As part of cooperation with the Kryvyi Rih local center for the provision of free secondary legal aid, Dasha Yednak, a student-clinician of the “Defender ” clinic, and the head of the clinic, Kateryna Nesterenko, joined the “Volunteer FVLA” project. They completed paralegal courses, underwent interviews and received paralegal certificates.
This provided consultants with: access to the knowledge base with algorithms for actions in difficult cases that are relevant during martial law; access to important news from the volunteer and paralegal community; the possibility to refer the client to specialists of free legal aid system.
“A huge community of Ukrainians has now united to help the military personnel and their family members, doctors, people who were forced to leave their homes, and children who suffered from the war. The laws and algorithms for solving the most typical legal problems undergo almost daily changes, and the University specialists are always ready to help,” noted Kateryna Nesterenko.
