The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs is a higher educational institution that, despite the changes of its location, which took place as a result of military operations on the territory of Ukraine in 2014 and 2022, has not lost its potential and thirst for development. For the DonSUIA, the development of international activities has become one of the main directions on the way to its restoration. The world trend towards the internationalization of education is one of the priorities the University is guided by in its work and planning.
International cooperation of the DonSUIA is carried out in accordance with the national legislation, Rome Ministerial Communiqué, resolutions, and the Development Strategy of the DonSUIA for 2022-2023, as well as according to the orders of the University administration.
International cooperation is aimed at further integration of the University into the European higher educational space, effective implementation of the Bologna process, improving the quality assurance of education, enhancing the cooperation with other HEIs and diversification of the funding, which is highly important for the twice displaced University.
The current international activity the of the DonSUIA covers the following key areas:
- academic and scientific cooperation with foreign educational institutions and international organizations, associations and networks;
- organization of academic mobility of the academic and administrative staff as well as higher education seekers;
- implementation of international experience in educational and methodological as well as cultural activity;
- promotion of scientific cooperation with foreign colleagues;
- participation in international projects (programs, conferences, seminars, symposia);
- project activity;
- activities to promote a positive image of the University, increasing the number of foreign partners and entering international rating systems;
- establishment and effective maintenance of permanent working contacts with representative offices of international organizations;
Despite the tough time and all the obstacles for HEI in Ukraine which occur in the process of the DonSUIA development we continue to build and establish friendly and partnership relations with higher educational institutions and international organizations from around the world. Currently, the University’s partners include the Institute of East European Law (Federal Republic of Germany), the University of Warmia and Masuria (Republic of Poland), the University of Latvia (Republic of Latvia), the University of Central Lancashire (Republic of Cyprus).
The University actively implements international projects whose results affect not only the improvement of the educational process and the qualification of the teaching staff improvement but also strengthening of cooperation between the University and the community of the city where the University is currently located.
