A second-year cadet of the faculty of training specialists for pre-trial investigation units of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, head of the cadet and student self-government, Sofia Tretiak, took part in the NABU Anti-Corruption School – 2025, which was held in the city of Kyiv.
The Anti-Corruption School of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine is an educational project initiated by the Open Office of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, which is implemented with the support of the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House and the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) – the leading anti-corruption support program in Ukraine, funded by the European Union, co-financed and implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
This year’s selection was particularly competitive: out of hundreds of applications, the organizers selected only 28 the most active young people from all regions of the country.
During the training week, the participants immersed themselves in the realities of Ukraine’s anti-corruption infrastructure: they learned about the history of creation and the specifics of work of NABU, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, and the High Anti-Corruption Court.
The school’s program also included classes in OSINT analytics, studying real cases of anti-corruption investigations, trainings, workshops, visits to key institutions, and meetings with representatives of the public sector.
The speakers were leading experts from NABU, NACP, SACC, the EU Delegation to Ukraine, and experienced investigative journalists.
“It was an incredible experience — not only in a professional sense, but also as an opportunity to meet like-minded people from all over Ukraine who truly want change. I am grateful for the chance to be part of this initiative,” said Sofia Tretiak.
The DonSUIA cadet’s participation in such a large-scale event not only contributes to the formation of her professional anti-corruption awareness and the development of leadership qualities, but also confirms the University’s strategic course – to be an active participant in national initiatives in the field of legal education and integrity.
