Cadets of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs take part in the series of the webinars on the best practices of the European Union in Police Activity.
Webinars are conducted by the representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission.
The theme of the first online-webinar was “Information session on equal rights and gender equality in the police”. 24 cadets participated in the webinar.
The question of the women`s position in the modern society is quite relevant. It is connected with the role of woman in the – family, work, studying, military service relationships. This theme for Ukraine is not less significant due to development of democratic, legal and social state. All these demands an equal attitude to all population of the country without dissolving it by any means. Cadets dispelled the stereotype of the realisation of women in traditional `male` professions. They discussed which shifts are necessary in the public consciousness, to change the attitude towards women in the police uniform.
The best European experience indicates, the policewomen the same competencies as their male colleagues. The presence of women in police departments has a positive effect on the effectiveness of work in the police departments as a whole.
