An essay competition on the topic „I have the right: a child’s view of adult life” among 9th and 11th grade students of secondary educational institutions in the Kirovohrad and Dnipropetrovsk regions was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
Vice-Rector Olena Volobuieva greeted the participants on behalf of the University rector Serhii Vitvitskyi. She emphasised that today’s students of secondary education institutions is the future of Ukraine and are the creators of a resistant state.
Yevhen Vdovychenko, a senior soldier of the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade named after Dmytro Vyshnevetskyi, addressed the audience: „By participating in this competition, everyone becomes the voice of those who are unable to express their thoughts and feelings. Your essays is a unique contribution to the great dialogue about human rights, their importance and necessity.”
Out of 40 authors of the competition entries, the following winners were announced:
The first place went to a 9th grade student of Zelenska Branch of Petrivske Village Council Cossak Lyceum, Oleksandriia District of the Kirovohrad Region, Anna Karieva, a 9th grade student of Yakymivka Gymnasium of the Smolinska Territorial Community, Novoukrainskyi District of the Kirovohrad Region, Igor Kelman, an 11th grade student of the Kryvyi Rih Natural Science Lyceum of the Kryvyi Rih City Council of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, Kira Balaban;
The second place went to a 9th grade student of the Deryivka Lyceum of the Onufriivka Village Council of the Kirovohrad region, Oleksandr Bizhko, a 9th grade student of the Lyceum of Natural Sciences of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council of the Kirovohrad region, Karyna Hryzliuk, a 9th grade student of Secondary School № 15 of the of the Dnipro City Council of the Dnipropetrovsk region Kateryna Stoliar;
The third place went to an 11th grade student of Novopraha Lyceum № 1 of the Novopraha Village Council, Oleksandriia District of the Kirovohrad Region Kristina Lytvyn, a 9th grade student of Zelenska Branch of Petrivka Village Council Cossak Lyceum, Oleksandriia District of the Kirovohrad Region Victoria Skorokhod, a 9th grade student of the Municipal Institution „Secondary School № 15” of the Dnipro City Council of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, Anna Razumovska.
All the winners received diplomas, certificates and branded gifts from the University.
