A sitting volleyball match was held between the teams of the military and the University higher education seekers at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
Sitting volleyball is recognized as one of the effective methods of physical rehabilitation for people with lower limb amputations. It allows veterans not only to improve their physical condition, but also to find new opportunities for communication and social activity.
Head of the department of special physical and pre-medical training Ihor Shostak and senior lecturer Yurii Mironov conducted an instruction on the rules of the game and the techniques of performing movements before training started .
According to the results of the game, the veterans won with the score of 2:1. The participants noted that sports for them is a kind of therapy that helps them return to active life.
The event took place within the framework of implementing the projects of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine “Friendly support” and “Support of the relocated Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs” with the assistance of the European Union.
