Representatives of the Center for Psychological Assistance to Military and Law Enforcement Officers of the Ukrainian Association of Art Therapy conducted a series of training sessions on preventing and combating domestic violence for higher education seekers of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The speakers were: Mykola Sulzhuk, senior inspector for special assignments of the department of the main inspection and human rights protection of the NPU; Ilia Chernyshov, head of the human rights enforcement sector of the Kropyvnytskyi district police department of the HONP in the Kirovohrad region; a military psychologist, president of the Ukrainian Art Therapy Association, head of the Center Rustam Taranenko; a psychologist-art therapist, neuropsychologist, deputy head of the Center, Yuliia Tytarenko. The training program was approved by the department of the main inspection and human rights protection (head — Ruslan Horiachenko).
Mykola Sulzhuk and Ilia Chernyshov determined the legal aspects of counteracting and preventing domestic violence, the algorithm of actions of police officers when responding to facts of domestic violence.
Rustam Taranenko and Yuliya Tytarenko informed about actual aspects regarding organization of comprehensive preventive measures; peculiarities of the psycho-emotional state; behavior of an offender and a person experiencing domestic violence; they dwelt on assessing the risks of committing domestic violence.
They managed to model the situations for differentiating cases of domestic violence, considered the peculiarities of communication with an offender and a person experiencing domestic violence. Special attention was focused on working with children who found themselves in psycho-traumatic circumstances.
Yuliia Tytarenko also familiarized the cadets with the tools for determining the psycho-emotional state of a person, in particular, a diagnostic and therapeutic technique “Sailboat”, “Island” and “Transformation” techniques (modified by R. Taranenko), the author’s own art technique.
Based on the results of the training, 29 law enforcement officers will receive certificates from the Center of Psychological Assistance to Military and Law Enforcement Officers.
The event was organized by lecturers of the department of administrative and legal disciplines of the faculty of training specialists for preventive activity units.
