Providing aid to the wounded, evacuating them to a safe zone, inspecting explosive objects, documenting war crimes – the university held a binary class in the form of a police quest on the theme “Artillery shelling of a column of civilian vehicles.” The purpose of the event was to determine the algorithm of actions of police officers at the scene of the accident and to inspect them.
Under the terms of the plot, the roles of investigators, operatives, experts and victims have been distributed among 2nd year students of the faculty of training specialists for the units of the National Police.
Police officers must overcome the challenges of today’s war. The developed plot reflects the events that represent current reality for the Ukrainians. This requires clear actions from police officers.
It is important for future graduates of departmental higher education institutions to have not only theoretical training, but also practical skills in documenting war crimes,” said Olga Lytvynenko, a senior lecturer at the Department of Pre-Trial Investigation, Faculty No. 1 of KESI DonSUIA.
The police quest consisted of three stages. According to the conditions of the first one, the participants determined the circle of “victims”, provided assistance to the “wounded” and evacuated them from the car to a safe zone. All this took place under the guidance of the representatives of the National Guard of Ukraine, who first demonstrated how to act correctly.
The second stage is the inspection of explosive objects. Practical assistance was provided by the members of the 2nd Department of the Explosive Service. They showed some types of explosive objects that are most often used by the country-aggressor against the military and civilian population of Ukraine.
Members of the 26th State Fire and Rescue Department of the State Emergency Service in Kryvyi Rih took part in the third stage. They demonstrated a set of measures for extinguishing cars that caught fire as a result of rocket shelling
DonSUIA thanks the representatives of all services that participated in the quest, for sharing experience and practical help in conducting the class!
