On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, the DonSUIA administration, its staff and higher education seekers lined up on the parade ground.
The event was welcomed by the University rector, police colonel Serhii Vitvitskyi. He admitted the importance of this holiday for the Ukrainian people and emphasized the heroic deeds of the defenders of Ukrainian independence and sovereignty. Those present honored the memory of those who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war with a minute of silence.
During the line-up on the occasion of the holiday, the best staffers and higher education seekers were recognized by the University rector Serhii Vitvitskyi. Cadets and students of the University also received gratitude letters from the department of youth and sports of the Kirovograd Regional Military Administration, the KROP HUB public space and the public organization “Hearts of Mothers and War Veterans of the Kirovograd Region.”
Besides, as part of Independence Day celebration, students of the faculty of training specialists of law, management and economic security joined a historical excursion and a poetic hour “Ukraine – the way to Independence.” in the University library. Second year students watched and discussed the video “DNA of Ukraine” and took part in the patriotic action “Independence Day under the National Flag.”
Extending understanding of the history of national symbols by cadets, their role in the formation of Ukrainian identity, as well as promotion of patriotic education of youth, was the purpose of the interactive event “United Ukraine: formation of national identity,” which was conducted by lecturers of the department of operational-search activities and information security.
Due to interactive sessions, the participants not only enriched their knowledge of Ukrainian history and national symbols, but also shared their ideas on the importance of independence in the modern context, emphasized the importance of realizing their own responsibility for the future of the country.
