The event was organized by the academic staff of the department of operational and investigative activities and information security, as well as the department of criminal procedure and criminalistics of the DonSUIA.
Its methodological basis was formed by training materials of the Winter School for representatives of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the investigation of crimes related to human traffickingwithin the frame of a joint project of the OSCE Support Program for Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police of Ukraine.

A special feature of the exercises was the role-playing of witnesses, eyewitnesses and offenders, which required the cadets to make prompt decisions depending on changes in the situation at the site of investigative (detective) actions.
Law enforcement officers practiced interviewing citizens, interrogating a victimized minor, and conducting a search. Special attention was paid to the interaction of investigators, operatives and forensic experts at the stages of preparation, planning and implementation of investigative actions.
After completing the exercises, the participants discussed the results, identified common mistakes and received practical recommendations from experts on how to prevent them in their future professional activities in combating crime.
