From February 9 to 13, 2026, the 5th All-Ukrainian Conference “Children’s Safety on the Internet: Warning, Education, Interaction”, organized by the Kirovohrad Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education named after Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi together with the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs took place.
The event brought together scientists, educators, and law enforcement officers to find effective solutions to protect children in the digital environment. The participants discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on education, combating cyberbullying, and protecting teens from online threats.
In her speech, Associate Professor of the Department of Operational Investigation and Information Security of the DonSUIA, Olha Haborets, emphasized that the safety of children on the Internet is a matter of legal responsibility and the state’s readiness to respond to digital challenges, and participation of cadets in such events contributes to the formation of skills in working with digital evidence and combating cybercrime.
The University representatives also shared their experience of work with cyber police and the Educational Security Service to teach children digital hygiene and safe
Based on the results of the conference, recommendations were developed to increase the efficiency of interaction between state institutions in the field of protecting children in cyberspace.
