The workshop “AITeam Makerspace: from idea to innovation” for pupils of the Kirovohrad Regional Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity was сonducted by the AITeam, including higher education seekers of the faculty of training specialists for criminal police units, led by Olha Lunhol, associate professor of the department of operational investigation and information security.
The schoolchildren were told about the world of modern technologies and artificial intelligence, worked with robot Eilik, which can show emotions and interact with users by means of sensors. The robot was obtained by the AITeam within the grant project.
The workshop included several creative practical tasks that helped those present understand the working principles and the capabilities of artificial intelligence. Special attention was paid to the ethical and social aspects of using AI.
The participants of the event held an active discussion about the future of artificial intelligence, discussed the possibilities of its application in everyday life and education.
“Our task is to help children understand that the future of technology depends on their desire for knowledge,” AITeam member Maksym Drobakha noted.
The training was conducted within the framework of the program “Enhancing opportunities for children and youth through training, skill development and UPSHIFT”, which is carried out by the NGO “SCC Zadzerkallia” with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany through the German State Development Bank KfW.
