On February 23, the VII All-Ukrainian scientific and practical student conference in foreign languages ”Law enforcement bodies protecting law, order and constitutional freedoms in conditions of peace and martial law” was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The event was attended by Maksym Romanov, deputy head of Organization of scientific activities and innovations unit of the Department of education, science and sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine; Kateryna Koltunova, deputy head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration; head of the Council of young scientists of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, professor of forensics department of the National University “Odesa Law Academy”, head of the board of the NGO “International Development Foundation”, head of the group “De mendacio veritas” Olesia Vashchuk; manager of the project “Information support of EU networks in Ukraine” Denys Chernikov; coordinator of the NATO-Ukraine program on education of integrity Maryna Kogut; scientists of the DonSUIA.
Serhii Vitvitskyi, rector of the DonSUIA, addressed the audience with a welcome speech. He emphasized that expansion of international relations with the purpose of the state development requires proper command of foreign languages. Future legislators and law enforcement officers must be professionals in different fields, show readiness for professional communication: “For many years, the University has paid special attention to the formation of foreign language communicative competence. Cooperation with foreign Universities and international organizations is ongoing. I wish the participants of the conference fruitful work, inspiration and success in their scientific activity.”
This year, the organizing committee received about 120 abstracts of speeches from representatives of different higher education institutions of Ukraine. They raised the issue of protecting constitutional human rights in police activities in the zone of military conflict; international standards of law enforcement activities in peacetime and under martial law; prevention of offenses by law enforcement bodies in peacetime and under martial law; interaction between law enforcement bodies and the public in the field of ensuring public order in peacetime and under martial law; training law enforcement officers in peacetime and under martial law.
Maksym Romanov, deputy head of Organization of scientific activities and innovations unit of the Department of education, science and sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine noted that a foreign language is the language of the European jurisdiction. Scientific work of cadets and students is an integral part of their activities at higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Deputy head of the Kirovohrad RMA, Kateryna Koltunova, emphasized the topicality and uniqueness of the conference. She thanked the DonSUIA administration for long standing cooperation and wished the participants peaceful conditions in their successful training scientists in the legal and law enforcement fields.
In her turn, Olesia Vashchuk, head of the Council of young scientists at the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine, wished the higher education seekers to be active in implementing their scientific achievements.
