With the assistance of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine, the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs started the first in 2025 training in the “Community Police Officer” specialization.
For 75 days 98 law enforcement officers from 9 regions of Ukraine will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the main tasks and functions of community police officers; the specifics and priority areas of cooperation with the population; the specifics of providing pre-medical assistance, as well as psychological support to internally displaced persons and those who used to be in the territories where hostilities took place.

The best practices of the National Police and the University instructors will help you become real professionals in your field. I wish you success and perseverance in achieving your goal,” said the DonSUIA rector, police colonel Serhii Vitvitskyi.
The law enforcement officers were welcomed by head of the Main Office of the National Police in the Kirovohrad region, colonel Roman Koziakov, and deputy head of the Office – head of the department of analysis and methodical support of managing the interaction with communities of the Department of preventive activities at the National Police of Ukraine, police captain Sviatoslav Kuchmenko.
Roman Kozyakov emphasized that community police officers make an important link between police and community. Peace and security in the area of their activity depend on their professionalism.
The “Community Police Officers” program is a model of law enforcement activity that works in different regions of Ukraine. The new recruitment of officers in the DonSUIA is another step towards strengthening security, law and order in the communities of our state.
