The competition held in Sofia (Bulgaria) brought together more than 500 athletes from 22 European countries. Andrii Rudkovskyi, a 3rd-year cadet of the Faculty Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Subdivisions of the DonSUIA, won the gold medal of the European Kyokushinkai Karate Championship among young men, juniors and youth in the categories of kata and kumite.
In the final duel, Andrii Rudkovskyi defeated the representative of Spain. The success was preceded by years of painstaking and persistent work. For a long time, the first step of the sports pedestal did not obey Andrii, but he did not give up and was persistent in reaching his goal. And here is the victory, which the cadet sought to reach so much.
The Ukrainian national team, which included the sportsman of our University, took second place in the team standing. Volodymyr Halimskyi, associate professor of the department of special physical and pre-medical training trained the karate for the competition.
