Infrastructural revival and support for the development of displaced higher education institutions became the main idea of projects funded by the European Union in 2019.
The Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs named after E.O. Didorenko became one of the recipients. Within the framework of the project, the university began active work on the restoration of its main funds , in particular organization of a forensic laboratory, language classrooms for in-depth study of foreign languages, as well as conducting scientific research and developing training courses.
In 2022, due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine and the forced relocation of the university, the project was suspended.
2023 became the year of combining the potentials and resources of two powerful higher education institutions- the Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs named after E.O. Didorenko and the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. This contributed to the resumption of the project in 2024.
The strengthened project team set itself the goal of strengthening the displaced university and improving cooperation with the local community to ensure safety and quality of education during the war and after it.
The implementation of the project continues regarding the achievements of the previous years – the reconstruction of the forensic laboratory and language classrooms in the city of Kropyvnytskyi. Within its framework, the material and technical base of the university will be improved by carrying out repair works and equipping classrooms and specialized educational facilities of the DonSUIA.
An important stage in the preparation of the project was the involvement of higher education seekers and academic staff of the DonSUIA, whose suggestions were taken into account. The researchers initiated a study on the theme “Modern technical and forensic means of proof in criminal proceedings” and the introduction of a corresponding training course. The students noted the need to interact with the community in order to develop the skills to ensure security in the post-war conditions and after the war.
The main task of the project “Support to Displaced Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs” 2019/413-791 is the development of international relations of higher education institutions and the internationalization of education, which poses new challenges to the academic community and higher education seekers of the DonSUIA.
Its implementation should strengthen the position of the displaced higher education institution in the host community, region, among other universities and contribute to the improvement of the quality of provided educational services and education of professionals.
