Delegation of the European Union Advisory Mission paid a working visit to the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
It consisted of: head of the police unit of the EUAM Soeren Rye (Kingdom of Denmark), adviser of the EUAM on police issues in the de-occupied territories Ihor Kusan (Republic of Croatia), expert of the EUAM on police activity in the de-occupied territories Volodymyr Zhminko (Ukraine), senior expert of the EUAM on police activities in the de-occupied territories of police issues Yurii Gladun (Ukraine).
In his welcome speech, Rector of the University Serhii Vitvitskyi emphasized that the long-term support of the EUAM helps the DonSUIA remain the premier training institution for young police officers in Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs despite multiple relocations and contributes to the stable development of the higher education institution.
“Thanks to your support, we managed to implement many large-scale projects in Mariupol. You also made a significant contribution to the restoration of the educational process in Kropyvnytskyi. The last two years have been difficult for our team, but we do not lose momentum and strive to move forward, develop and work for the good of our state,” noted Serhii Vitvitskyi.
The representatives of the EUAM informed about the possibilities, prospects and areas of cooperation, the main of which is training personnel to work in the de-occupied territories.
During the visit, the guests familiarized themselves with the material and technical base of the University and the Mariupol Center for Primary Professional Training “Police Academy” of the DonSUIA, met and talked with the representatives of the structural units of the Higher Education Institution and determined areas for further cooperation.
The DonSUIA thanks the European Union Advisory Mission for the comprehensive support of the personnel and a significant contribution to training the young generation of human rights defenders of Ukraine.
