Senior advisor on the investigation of international crimes, Vincent Hognai, and an expert on legal issues of the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine, Dmytro Omelchenko, familiarized themselves with the activities of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
During the meeting, rector Serhii Vitvitskyi emphasized that strong and sustainable cooperation of the EUAM and the DonSUIA contributes to the exchange of experience in the field of education and science, implementation of modern innovative educational projects, and opens up new opportunities for the development of departmental cooperation in training police officers.
The arrival of EUAM is the result of the previous visit of their experts to the University, whose purpose was to hand over equipment for furnishing the “Court Hall”.
The first vice-rector of the University Yehor Nazymko presented the University’s team developments to the guests and outlined the main areas of work that are important in today’s conditions.
The experts of the mission got acquainted with locations, material and technical support and classroom fund of the University in the city of Kropyvnytskyi.
Deans of the faculties and the management of MCPPT of the “Police Academy” of the DonSUIA spoke about the peculiarities of its units functioning, presented specialized educational facilities, which are platforms for higher education seekers and listeners to work at their practical skills. The students and cadets, in turn, shared their impressions of their studies and plans for the future with the representatives of the EUAM.
According to the results of the visit, the priority topics of trainings for the scientific-pedagogical and cadet-student staff were determined where foreign specialists in mine awareness, tactical medicine, peculiarities of criminal analysis could be involved.
The meeting took place within the framework of the project “Support of the displaced Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs”, which is carried out with the financial support of the European Union for the implementation of scientific initiatives and their application in communities.
