At the initiative of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs and the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, a veterans’ forum “Politics of Heroes. Time for Collaboration” was held, at which the Veterans’ Hub and the Center for National and Patriotic Education of the DonSUIA were presented.
The forum was attended by representatives of state authorities and local governments, law enforcement bodies, as well as war veterans, combatants, public figures, and volunteers.
The Deputy Minister for Veterans’ Affairs of Ukraine, Ruslan Prykhodko, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of implementing veterans’ policy in the regions.
The University guests were also presented with the Veterans’ Hub of the DonSUIA. Its goal is to promote integration into the public life of the community those of the Armed Forces of Ukraine servicemen, persons with special services to the Motherland, injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity, family members of the perished (those who died) war veterans and defenders of Ukraine as well as their adaptation to civil life.
«The DonSUIA Veterans’ Hub was created as a platform for a constructive dialogue between the authorities and veterans, promoting implementation of joint initiatives and projects, as well as providing comprehensive support to the defenders of Ukraine and their families», emphasized the DonSUIA rector Serhii Vitvitskyi.
Qualified specialists from the University will provide information, consulting, social, psychological, and legal assistance, as well as conduct classes in adaptive veteran sports and physical training.
The forum participants also visited the Center for National and Patriotic Education, created for informational and educational work with youth.
After an official part, all those interested had an opportunity to get acquainted with all areas of the volunteers’ center activities in practice.
