Trainings, quizzes, a discussion club and thematic book exhibitions – these are the events held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs on the occasion of Lawyer’s Day.
Higher education seekers of the Faculty of Law, Management and Economic Security of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs were involved in the motivational training “Coffee with a Lawyer”. During the event, they learned professional success stories from practicing lawyers, academics, and also the university stakeholders. Students solved practical cases and prepared speeches.
The DonSUIA also hosted the event “Legal Profession: Meeting of Generations”. It brought together first-year students and 2nd-year postgraduate students who have already work experience. The participants discussed challenges and opportunities in the field of law.
Students from the Kryvyi Rih Faculty of the DonSUIA took part in a legal quiz. They examined the differences in the constitutions of some countries, in a game form answered questions about laws in different states and worked through famous fairy tales from the point of view of legal conflicts. In addition, there was a meeting with representatives of a free legal aid volunteer coordination sector, who introduced the students to the Volunteer FLA (Free Legal Aid) project and provided them with practical advice.
In the university library, the higher education seekers viewed a book exhibition “Lawyers of our time: Names, Accomplishments, and Achievements”. The librarian drew the young people’s attention to books and monographs by university professors, and gave a presentation-review of legal literature from the library’s collection. After that, the students of Kryvyi Rih Faculty of the DonSUIA discussed the specifics of a lawyer’s work in the framework of the discussion club “My profession is the best”.
In addition, the university scholars held a legal battle “The Battle of Laws” for high school students of Kryvyi Rih Gymnasium №26 and Kryvyi Rih Lyceum №4.
