Within the framework of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine project “Friendly Support”, the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs continues cooperation with military personnel in the areas of physical and psychological rehabilitation.
Volodymyr Galimskyi, an associate professor of the department of special physical and pre-medical training of the University, holder of a 4th dan black belt in karate, conducted martial arts classes for defenders of Ukraine.
Such training helps soldiers regain endurance, improve coordination, learn to control their emotions, and effectively deal with stress and the consequences of post-traumatic syndrome.
In pairs, the participants worked out direct hits, side kicks on the hips, defensive moves and blocking. This made it possible to simulate real combat situations that contribute to physical development, psychological training, control of movements and instant decision-making in crisis situations.
