The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs acted as a partner in the implementation of the project «Generation 1325: Security through girls’ participation», which was launched in the Kirovohrad region.
The program is implemented by the Kirovohrad Association «Civic Initiatives» with the support of the International Charitable Foundation «Ukrainian Women’s Fund» and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Kateryna Koltunova, deputy head of the Kirovohrad regional military administration, Liubov Lukiantseva, president of the Kirovohrad Association «Public Initiatives», and Alina Skliar, gender advisor at the DonSUIA, discussed the main areas of cooperation: informing the public; gaining practical skills in crisis communications, gender equality, gender approaches and gender-oriented governance; as well as implementing the provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 at the local level.
The participants of the meeting identified priority areas for cooperation between youth councils and the law enforcement sector as well as implementation of new initiatives in the Kirovohrad community.
The project will facilitate active participation of higher education seekers of the DonSUIA and members of youth councils in implementing the provisions of the Action Plan of Resolution 1325 «Women. Peace. Security.» by increasing knowledge, skills and involvement in peacekeeping and security initiatives at the regional level.
