As a part of raising the level of academic culture among higher education seekers, an inter-faculty educational training “Discussion on Academic Integrity” was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The purpose of the meeting was to deepen the participants’ understanding of the principles of academic integrity and its importance in scientific and educational activities.
During the discussion, representatives of the university’s cadet and student self-government and research societies discussed the key aspects of integrity and ensuring its principles: avoiding plagiarism; correct citation of sources; conducting conscientious research and responsible attitude to the educational process. They also offered ideas for information and analytical support of educational and scientific activities using the principles of academic integrity.
“This training has become a platform for open discussion of important issues related to the principles of honesty, ethics and responsibility in education and research,” said Valentyn Tulinov, dean of the faculty of training specialists for criminal police units of the DonSUIA.
At the end of the event, the cadets and students received methodological recommendations and informational materials that will help them effectively apply the principles of integrity in their educational activities.
The event was organized by the Scientific Society in cooperation with the Academic Integrity Promotion Group of the DonSUIA.
