Hanna Buha, acting first vice-rector of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, and Victoria Moskalenko, head of the international cooperation unit, joined an online event dedicated to the opportunities of the EU Erasmus+ Program for Ukrainian higher education institutions.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, higher education institutions and experts discussed topical issues of participation in the program and prospects for the development of Ukrainian higher education in the European context. National priorities for participation in Erasmus+ program competitions in 2025 were determined.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vynnytskyi spoke in detail about these vectors, emphasizing the importance of taking them into account when developing projects.
The participants were introduced to the results of the implementation of international technical assistance projects financed by the Erasmus+ program and aimed at supporting reforms in higher education in Ukraine. Head of the expert group of the European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Directorate Serhii Shkabko spoke in detail about these achievements and their impact on the development of education.
Svitlana Shitikova, coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine, presented a general overview of the opportunities for Universities in the 2025 competitions. She emphasized the importance of Ukrainian higher education institutions participation in the Erasmus+ program to improve the quality of education, the mobility of students and teachers, as well as to strengthen international ties.
Those present paid special attention to the sectoral recommendations of the European Commission and the implementation of the Roadmap of European integration in the fields of education and science for 2024-2027. Oleksandra Husak, Director General of the European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Directorate, explained in detail how Ukrainian higher education institutions can adapt their activities to these recommendations and requirements.
The participants of the meeting learned about various formats of involvement in the Erasmus+ program: teachers and students’ mobility, joint projects, programs.
They also emphasized the importance of creating international consortia and participating in alliances of European Universities.
During the discussion panel, dedicated to various aspects of participation in the Erasmus+ program, the experts and representatives of higher education institutions exchanged experiences, shared best practices and answered numerous questions of the participants.
The Erasmus+ information day confirmed that the program is a powerful tool for the modernization of Ukrainian higher education and its integration into the European educational space. Participation in the program opens new opportunities for Ukrainian Universities to cooperate with European partners, improve the quality of educational services and international competitiveness.
