Since January 2023, Ukraine obtained the right of free access to full-text electronic resources on the Research4Life platform as a Group A country (free access). After prior re-registration, the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs restored free access to the platform and extended the possibility of using it in 2024. The University library acts as a coordinator and a University consultation center on the issues regarding the use and access to the platform.
Access to electronic collections of books and journals of international publishing houses Elsevier, Springer Nature, John Wiley & Sons, Taylor & Francis, Emerald, Sage Publications, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, IOP Publishing, etc. is provided through the Research4Life portal. University researchers can also familiarize themselves with full texts of various types of documents.
Of the top 55 world biggest publishing houses (“Global 50” The World Ranking of the Publishing Industry 2019), users from Ukraine, including the DonSUIA, have access to 7, namely:
– Cambridge University Press (access to 443 journals);
– Elsevier (access to 4494 journals and 26735 books, 672 journals and 945 Clinical Key books);
– John Wiley & Sons (access to 2,032 journals and 25,072 books);
– Oxford University Press (access to 502 journals and 23,755 books);
– Springer Nature (access to 2855 journals and 246 books);
– Thieme (access to 180 journals);
– Wolters Kluwer – Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (access to 528 journals).
At the same time, University researchers got access to the content of 11 out of 24 leading international book publishers.

Access to 39 databases (24 free and 15 previously available by subscription) is provided through the Research4Life portal. The majority of them are published in English. These are: Dimensions, Embase, Scopus, CINAHL, Global Health, Joanna Briggs Institute EBP Database, Environmental Index, FSTA – Food Science and Technology Abstracts, Environmental Science Collection, ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global (PQDT).
Scientific and pedagogical staffers and higher education seekers can get access to full-text electronic resources on the Research4Life platform in the University library of the DonSUIA – both in the reading room and by e-mail address book@dnuvs.ukr.education.
