Delegation of the European Union Advisory Mission from regional representative offices of Kyiv and Odesa visited the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. Its members included: senior adviser on policing issues Arseinis Mikheievs; adviser on police and community interaction Heorhina Mahnussen; criminal investigation advisor Desery Hufnahel; advisor on the reform of the prosecutor’s office Andrii Markov; coordination officer and interpreter Iryna Boiko.
The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Head Office of the National Police in Kirovograd region, headed by Dmytro Matsibora.
In his welcome speech, rector of the University Serhii Vitvitskyi emphasized the importance of cooperation between the DonSUIA and the EUAM, the implementation of joint projects that are important for the scientific teaching and cadet-student staff of the University and the community as a whole: “The war not only changed our lives, but also identified new educational priorities, one of which is the preservation of the nation’s mental health. Considering the challenges of today, our specialists pay attention to the emotional stability of cadets and students, conduct trainings, binary classes with them, teach extreme and crisis psychology. “
He also noted that the main task of the University is to train specialists, future professionals who will be ready to solve issues of any complexity, including the psychological ones.
Arseinis Mikheieves, senior adviser on policing issues, spoke about the renewal of the EUAM’s mandate in Ukraine, which was concluded for a three-year term.
Vice-Rector of the DonSUIA Olena Volobuieva focused on the importance and relevance of the meeting, as the number of people in need of psychological help and support is growing every day.
The DonSUIA scientists: Olha Kravchenko, head of the psychological support unit of the personnel support department, Halyna Mukhina, associate professor of social and humanitarian disciplines department of the faculty of training specialists for pre-trial investigation units joined the discussion. They provided proposals for holding events by the EUAM experts in accordance with the previously agreed topics and informed about the innovative project of the DonSUIA “The Unbreakable”. Its purpose is to provide psychological support to victims of the military aggression.
The representatives of the EUAM got acquainted with the specialized educational facilities of the University, the room for psychological relief in particular. It is an educational and relaxing space for quick and effective relief of emotional tension, restoration of working capacity, conducting psychotherapeutic, psychohygienic educational activities for the participants of the educational process and for those who need it.
As a result of the visit of the EUAM representatives, in order to further plan the work on the discussed topics, they agreed on a meeting of the DonSUIA psychologists with Heidi Kotamaki, adviser on police and the EUAM community interaction.
