The stages of providing first aid in areas of shelling and methods of evacuating the wounded were practiced by higher education seekers during the course “Providing first aid in the conditions of martial law”.
Oksana Voloshyna, a teacher of the department of special physical and pre-medical training of the DonSUIA, spoke about the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) and MARCH protocols, which are used in providing first aid in action and while examining the injured.
Cadets acquired skill of stopping various types of bleeding using tourniquets, Esmarch’s tourniquet; tamponing and bandaging in case of chemical burns; providing assistance in case of airway obstruction and loss of consciousness; cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Practitioners from the CUE”City Emergency Hospital” of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council were involved in the training. They shared their practical experience with the youth and provided them with professional advice on how to behave in critical situations.
The participants of the event emphasized the relevance of this issue both in the conditions of war and in civilian life.
