A series of optional practical classes on «Tactics of police actions to ensure public safety and order during mass events» were held for higher education seekers of the faculty of training specialists for preventive activities of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
Under the guidance of Dmytro Maiboroda, a crowd control instructor and deputy commander of the TOR unit of the department of Patrol Police Office in the Kirovohrad Region of the Patrol Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, the cadets learned about the Scandinavian model of public order. They practiced the basics of managing a unit; giving commands and duplicating signals; ways to create “wedge”, “line”, “box”, “fast box”, “fast line” formations, moving and ensuring interaction in a particular formation; countering crowd aggression and ensuring personal safety.
Dmytro Maiboroda also shared his own experience of serving in a tactical response unit, gave examples of actions in specific situations, and answered numerous questions of police officers.
The trainings were conducted within the framework of the discipline «Organization of police activities to ensure public safety and order» at the Kirovohrad Regional Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
