STEAM technologies, which take into account the development trends of Ukrainian and the world society, and their introduction into educational process were discussed by the participants of the International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference “Actual Aspects of the Development of STEAM Education in Conditions of European Integration”.
In his welcome speech, rector of DonSUIA, Serhii Vitvitskyi, noted that the conference is an opportunity for scientists and specialists from different cities and countries not only to exchange experience, new developments in the field of STEAM education, but also to discuss current issues regarding modernization of teaching methods of different subjects on the basis of STEAM – technologies that are gaining special importance today.
Among the participants of the event were Doctor of Philosophy of the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt Jürgen Köberlein-Kerler (Germany); Professor of the Department of Electronics and Information Technologies of the Lublin University of Technology Valdemar Voitsek (Poland); Professor of the Department of Theory of Education and Pedagogy of the University of Opole, Fabian Andrushkevych (Poland); honorary doctor of five Universities in Ukraine and Kazakhstan Saula Smailova and leading scientists of Ukraine.
During the conference, the participants presented the innovative experience of higher education institutions in the areas of STEAM education, discussed topical issues of STEAM technologies implementation in teaching сompulsory and optional subjects at educational institutions of different types, as well as creation of the platform for communication between scientists, educators, managers, and education seekers.
The participants of the conference summarized the world experience, considered theoretical and methodological aspects of the formation of soft-skills by education seekers. The scientists discussed the gender issue in the context of STEAM education, aspects of using educational platforms for the organization of international project-research STEAM activities, the issue of ensuring the quality of higher education in the context of global prospects for the formation of innovative European space.
The DonSUIA adminisration thanks the participants for informative reports, interesting discussions and expresses the hope that this conference will be the University’s contribution to the development of STEAM education in the domestic educational space and its constructive integration into pan-European educational processes.
