An online webinar was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs on the theme “Preventing and combating domestic and gender-based violence: EU best practice.” The cadets and graduate students of HEE joined the webinar. The speaker at the event was Jukka Larkio, Adviser -Trainer on criminal investigations from Finland. The representative of the mission talked about domestic violence, familiarized the cadets with the Criminal Code of Finland, namely with the articles that are directly related to the theme of the event.
The students learned and considered the types of domestic violence according to Ukrainian legislation. The participants also learned about a restraining order as a way to stop harassment, threats, and unwanted messages, which are used to prevent violence and new crimes. The final stage of the webinar was an instruction on how a victim of domestic violence can get help.
DonSUIA is indebted to the EUAM in Ukraine for the opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge, which are taken over by the cadets!
