Can a law enforcement officer become not just a representative of the authorities, but a reliable support for everyone, regardless of circumstances? The answer to this question was sought at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs during training in the educational series «Involvement and Accessibility in the Work of the National Police of Ukraine».
This initiative introduces a modern Community Policing strategy into training, which teaches future officers to be people-centered, respect everyone’s rights, and find common ground with all segments of the population.
The course speakers were leading experts, including Tetiana Lomakina, Advisor of the President of Ukraine on Accessibility, Ruslan Horiachenko, Head of the Department of the Main Inspection and Human Rights Compliance of the National Police, Vitalii Pcholkin, representative of the National Council for Accessibility, and Olena Ivanova, UNDP Project Coordinator. They shared practical work algorithms based on the principles of accessibility and respect for the dignity of every person.
The training ended with a final test, on the results of which the cadets received personalized certificates of successful completion of the online course.
