As a part of the elective educational component «Organization of Convoy Unit Activities», the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs launched a series of additional educational events in the form of practical workshops for higher education seekers at the faculty of training specialists for preventive activities units.
The first lesson on «The procedure for searching convoyed persons» was conducted by Roman Chornyi, senior inspector for special assignments of the convoy service of the Preventive Activities Department, and Andrii Petruk, commander of the сonvoy service company of the Main Office of the National Police in Kirovohrad region.
The purpose of the event was to improve the professional skills of cadets in the field of convoy organization, human rights and security observance during searches.
The young police officers learned about the main aspects of searching convoyed persons, in particular, they learned about key legal acts; the algorithm of actions during a search, from ensuring control over the situation to recording the seized items. Particular attention was paid to the observance of the rights of detainees and the safety of police officers during these actions.
The cadets as a part of imaginary convoy duty units worked out the search procedure under the guidance of experienced instructors. The exercises included work with imitation of real situations, which brought training as close as possible to the conditions of practical service.
«We learned about the theoretical aspects of the search and gained real experience. This is very important for understanding the complexity and responsibility of the convoy service», said the participants.
The event was organized by the department of administrative and legal disciplines of the faculty of training specialists for preventive activities.
The DonSUIA thanks the representatives of the Convoy Service Company of the Kirovohrad Region National Police for their professionalism and willingness to share their experience with the younger generation of law enforcement officers.
