A series of trainings on tactical medicine for graduation students has started at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, on the initiative of rector Serhii Vitvitskyi.
Stop the bleed training was conducted by an international instructor, a combatant having 16 year experience of serving in the National Police of Ukraine, Oleksandr Savenko. He had been working at the Training Center of the MONP in the Donetsk region for 7 years, 4 of them as a chief. In the period of 2022-2024, Oleksandr headed groups of Donetsk police paramedics, who made more than 2,500 combat missions and saved more than 1,000 lives. He personally saved the lives of 94 persons.
The cadets practiced: the use of hemostatic turnstiles to stop critical bleeding during limb injuries, tamponing wounds and massive bleeding stop, evacuation of victims from the scene of event, etc.
Also, Oleksandr Savenko conducted a class on the application of the MARCH algorithm in combat conditions.
After completing the training, the participants of the first stage received “Stop the bleed” international certificates and original CAT turnstile within the framework of of the World Congress of Ukrainians support and Unite With Ukraine organization.
