A seminar-counsel on maintaining mental health in war conditions, was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. It was attended by deputy head of the Kirovograd Regional Military Administration Kateryna Koltunova and a coordinator of the mental health program “How are you?” Oleksandr Kryshko. The event brought together scientists, psychologists, heads of inclusive resource centers, specialists in mental health.
The main purpose of the seminar was discussing a regional plan of activities for 2024-2026 on the implementation of the Concept for the development of mental health care. It was held within the framework of implementing All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program “How are you?” initiated by the First Lady Olena Zelenska.
At the event, the DonSUIA was represented by two speakers – head of the department of social and humanitarian disciplines of the faculty of training specialists for pre-trial investigation units, candidate of psychological sciences Anzhela Helbak and head of the psychological support department Tetiana Ivanchenko. Anzhela Helbak outlined the achievements and priority plans of the University regarding preservation of mental health of the educational process participants and the community as a whole. And Tetiana Ivanchenko presented methods for improving mental health in the work of the DonSUIA psychologists with cadets and students.
The main message of the meeting is popularization of mental health care. The participants drew their attention to the importance of understanding and supporting each individual’s needs in ensuring his/her mental well-being and creating a conscious and receptive environment where each individual can feel supported in his/her mental needs.
