The Triple E Awards is a global recognition of efforts to advance entrepreneurship and involvement in higher education. This is the first award to specifically focus on different aspects of the third mission of Universities.It aims to promote changes in higher education institutions and highlights their role in local communities and ecosystems.
Competitions were held in four countries of the world (America, Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific region). For the first time, Ukrainian higher education institutions took part in a separate category “Public Involvement Initiative in Ukraine”. This year five partners of the Erasmus+KA2 project CBHE 101083077 “Universities-communities: strengthening cooperation” (UNICOM) are among the winners.
The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs received the highest award for achievements within the “Friendly Support” initiative. The project is aimed at providing support and assistance to those who need it (defenders of Ukraine, families of the perished (those who died), wounded policemen, national guardsmen, border guards, rescuers, military personnel, released from captivity and their family members, children and adults with special needs), as well as equal access to comprehensive development and self-realization, promoting the preservation and restoration of historical and cultural heritage and natural environment.
Within the scope of the project, the DonSUIA higher education seekers participate in volunteer initiatives, measures for physical rehabilitation of wounded servicemen and provide them with psychological support.
The awarding ceremony of the winners was held in the city of Lisbon (Portugal) at the New University of Lisbon (Universidade Nova de Lisboa).
