A multifunctional space is designed to restore social and psychological well-being of the University higher education seekers and its staffers, as well as internally displaced persons and military personnel.
Modern massage chairs and an acoustic system with light effects help the visitors to get rid of pain, provide their complete relaxation, and improve their nervous system.
The opening was attended by: first vice-rector of the DonSUIA Yehor Nazymko, vice-rectors Ruslan Vradii and Serhii Hermanov, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine from Kyiv and Odesa sub-delegations: ICRC advisor on the issues regarding law enforcement and security bodies Maksym Hutov, ICRC advisors on the work with the armed forces and security bodies Ihor Lymarenko and Andrii Introlihator, ICRC specialist of the protection of family connections department Mykyta Kolpak, ICRC psychologist Olga Podhoretska, a representative of the national organization of the Red Cross in Ukraine (Kropyvnytskyi) Valery Puzyr, regional specialist in providing humanitarian aid Oleksandr Shvedov.
On behalf of the DonSUIA rector Serhii Vitvitskyi, first vice-rector Yehor Nazymko expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the ICRC in Ukraine for their significant contribution to the development of our higher education institutions: “The room for psychological relief will contribute to an emotionally stable educational environment at the University. Its stakeholders will be the National Police of Ukraine staffers and police officers who have returned from the war.”
The first training for the guests and the University administration was conducted by Olga Kravchenko, head of the psychological support unit of the personnel support department of the DonSUIA. With the help of cards and drawings, the participants shared their own emotions, dreams and plans for the future. Each participant associated them with their childhood, family, pleasant memories, peaceful life and the victory of Ukraine. The psychologist invited those present to participate in stress-relieving exercises, the climax of which was a minute of relaxation with the help of massage chairs.
As a token of friendship and fruitful cooperation of the ICRC and the DonSUIA, first vice-rector Yehor Nazymko presented an advisor on the issues regarding law enforcement and security bodies Maksym Hutov with a certificate of gratitude from rector Serhii Vitvitskyi.
