A chess tournament according to the rules of the Swiss system was held at the faculty of law and law enforcement training of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. Chess players of different age groups, starting from the 4th sports category up to the 1st one, played 7 rounds.
The tournament took place with time control – 10 minutes per game + 5 seconds for each subsequent move.
The winners were:
1st place – Mykola Korotkykh (1st sports category);
2nd place – Denys Desiatnyk (1st sports category);
3rd place – Amelia Gromko (1st sports category).
The event was held with the aim of popularizing the game of chess among the youth of Kryvyi Rih, as well as highlighting a historical significance of the Day of the Unification of Ukraine. All participants received certificates and gifts from the ChessHUB team.
The ChessHUB project was created within the framework of the UPSHIFT program, which is implemented in the Dnipropetrovsk region by the NGO Duit, with the support of the UNICEF and the Japanese government.
