On December 14 and 15, 2023, the “University and Inclusion” conference was held in Rome (Republic of Italy). The host party was Fondazione Sicurezza e Liberta, whose representatives Felice Romano and Alessandro Figus, addressed the participants with welcoming speeches.
The purpose of the conference was to determine the role of Universities, the specifics of their interaction with communities and stakeholders.
The event was held in online and offline formats. Each members of the consortium shared their own experience of implementing the project during the сurrent year and took part in discussing urgent problems that arise in the process of interaction between Universities and communities in accordance with their specifics.
First vice-rector of the University, doctor of legal sciences, professor Yehor Nazymko from the DonSUIA joined the event in an online format with a report on the theme “Educated community as the third mission of higher educational institutions: Ukrainian-British interaction with forced migrants”. The co-reporter was senior inspector of the international cooperation department, candidate of economic sciences, associate professor Yevhenia Dragomirova. The moderators of the offline format were: head of the research laboratory for the prevention of criminal offenses, doctor of legal sciences, Tetiana Ponomariova, and head of the international cooperation unit, Viktoriia Moskalenko.
Based on the results of the conference, each participant determined the priority directions for the development of higher educational and state institutions, considering their gained experience, which is based on European standards for ensuring the quality of higher education. The acquired knowledge will soon be integrated into the national mechanism for strengthening cooperation between Universities and communities.
