ERASMUS+: representatives of the DonSUIA participated in workshops from the University of Latvia.
The continuation of the series of educational seminars from foreign partners of the ERASMUS+ KA2 CBHE project “Universities – Communities: Strengthening Cooperation” was a series of workshops for the representatives of Ukrainian consortium of Universities from the University of Latvia.
During the meetings, the participants discussed the topic “National regulation and third mission implementation in HEI – experience and collaboration with social partners”.
The workshops were held in Riga (the Republic of Latvia) The head of the international cooperation unit Victoriia Moskalenko and the head of the research laboratory for the prevention of criminal offenses Tetiana Ponomarova represented the DonSUIA.
On the eve of the 32nd anniversary of Ukrainian Independence the participants met with the Rector of the University of Latvia Indrikis Muižnieks and the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Latvia Anatolii Kutsevol. The latter noted the role of Universities in maintaining ties between Ukraine and Latvia.
During their visit, the participants visited the Parliament of Latvia, talked with the deputy speaker and the deputy of the Parliament of Latvia Dr. Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica. With the speakers they discussed the issue of cooperation with social partners in the implementation of the University’s Third Mission, the system and criteria for evaluating the Third Mission, as well as its accreditation. The speakers shared their experience of the University and their vision of the “Formula “Future of Latvia 2050”.
The workshops were organized by the Faculty of Business, Management and Economics of the University of Latvia. The project manager was B. Šavriņa.
As a result of fruitful work, all participants of the summer school gained valuable knowledge about cooperation between the University and social partners. The mechanism of national regulation of the third mission of the University in Latvia, subject to certain adjustments in accordance with Ukrainian realities, may be used by Ukrainian Universities.
