Within the framework of the project of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine “Strengthening the Capacities of National Partners to Reinforce Cyber Resilience” a modern classroom has been opened at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs to prepare higher education seekers for efficient activity in the face of digital challenges, cyber threats, and hybrid warfare.
“Equipping a classroom within the framework of the OSCE and the Ministry of Internal Affairs project is not only a modernization of the University material and technical base, but also a strategic step towards developing digital competence of police officers who are able to think critically, act technically, and protect citizens in the context of the society digital transformation”, Serhii Vitvitskyi, rector of the DonSUIA noted in his welcoming speech.
The festive event was attended by director of the department of education, science and sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tarasenko, project coordinator in the field of “Human Security” of the OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine Liliia Hrudko, and project manager of the OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine Tetiana Medun.
Oleksandr Tarasenko emphasized that digital awareness and cyber hygiene skills is a necessary condition for training modern police officers and other representatives of the security sector. Creation of such educational spaces will contribute to increasing the level of cybersecurity, developing resilience to information threats, and ensuring an effective response to new challenges in the field of digital security.
He also thanked the OSCE partners for their constant support for the initiatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine aimed at modernizing the educational process, and wished success to all the project participants.
In their turn Liliia Hrudko and Tetiana Medun expressed their belief that the new educational space will become a platform for forming the culture of cyber hygiene among the younger generation of law enforcement officers.
