At the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs with the assistance of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine 114 law enforcement officers from 22 regions of Ukraine began training in the specialization “Community Police Officers”.
The University rector, police colonel Serhii Vitvitskyi, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech: “The goal of the “Community Police Officer” project is to increase the level of public security and trust between the community and the police by training competent, ethical, and communicative community police officers, capable of effectively preventing crime, resolving conflicts and working in partnership with residents. Our University acts not only as a place of learning, but also as a partner of the community and the police, ensuring the quality, scientific character and modernity of training.”
The police officers were congratulated with the beginning of a new stage of their professional development by Deputy Head of the Main Office of the National Police in the Kirovohrad region, Police Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Sahal, Head of the Unit of Interaction with Communities of the Preventive Activities Department of the National Police of Ukraine, Police Major Maiia Breslavska and Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Correspondence Studies of the DonSUIA Pylyp Yepryntsev.
Over the course of 75 days, the police officers will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to work efficiently in communities, including jurisprudence, administrative and criminal legislation as well as modern approaches to law enforcement.
The DonSUIA will continue to remain a reliable educational center that combines modern approaches, a scientific base, and practical training so that graduates can serve people with dignity and strengthen security and trust in every corner of Ukraine.
