On the eve of the Day of the Defenders of Ukraine, a meeting of higher education seekers with volunteer veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took place at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
Soldiers of the 9th Separate Rifle Battalion and the 17th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion – Company Commander Captain Serhii Kvasha, Chief of the Missile and Artillery Armament Service Staff Sergeant Volodymyr Snisarenko and detachment commander, Junior Sergeant Yevhen Chaika, shared their own combat experience, talked about service on the front line and a difficult path of a volunteer.
The veterans recalled the combat operations of their units. In particular, the 9th separate rifle battalion participated in the defense of Severodonetsk and the battles for Toshkivka, Ustynivka, Lysychansk, Vovchoyarivka, as well as in the liberation of the Kherson region. In 2023, the unit fought for Bakhmut, and later joined the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Kostia Hordienko, where he continued to perform combat missions in the Luhansk and Kharkiv regions.
The servicemen paid special attention to the importance of creating a barrier-free space for the military who were injured or had other limitations as a result of the war.
The cadets expressed their gratitude to the volunteers and emphasized that their example of courage and indomitability would serve as a guide for them in their studies and further service.
