The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs held an event for the Remembrance Day of the Donetsk airport defenders.
Librarians Yuliia Bahlai, Antonina Harkusha, Olga Vitkovska and Olga Uvarova told the University higher education seekers about some of the fiercest battles that lasted from May 2014 to January 20, 2015 in the east of Ukraine.
Yevhen Serhienko, head of the University department of social and humanitarian work and monitoring shared his memories of the heroism of “cyborgs” with the youth. In 2022, he served side by side with the commander of the machine gun control platoon, ATO veteran Volodymyr Malinovskyi (call sign “Malyna”) – the airport defender.
As part of the event, the opening of the “Bookworms” Reading Club took place, during which the cadets and students got acquainted with the work of Andrii Zelinskyi. His works “Anatomy of a Warrior” and “Semenovi zori” tell about the role of “cyborgs” in the defense of Ukraine’s independence.
Also, young people participated in the contest of civic and patriotic poetry, composed a thematic senkan and shared their thoughts on the courage of Ukrainian soldiers, calling them true patriots of their country.
