The II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Current issues of training specialists for the security and defense sector in war conditions” was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The event was organized jointly with the National Law University named after Yaroslav Mudryi, the Zaporizhzhia National University, the University of Customs and Finance, the European Union Advisory Mission, and the Center for Ukrainian-European Scientific Cooperation.
The DonSUIA rector, Serhii Vitvitskyi, addressed the audience: “Heroic resistance of Ukrainian people to the full-scale Russian military aggression has been going on for four years. The war has affected all spheres of social relations, has changed the activities of all subjects of public administration, especially that of the security and defense sector. In conditions of hybrid threats, technological changes, and complex military situations that require quick and effective decisions, it is necessary to constantly improve the process of training future specialists. This requires not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical modern skills and habits”.
Representatives of state authorities and law enforcement bodies addressed those present with welcoming speeches: State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Inna Yashchuk; Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets; director of the department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Tarasenko; People’s Deputy of Ukraine, deputy head of the committee on Law Enforcement Activities of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Halyna Mykhailiuk; deputy head of the department for Citizenship, Pardons, and State Awards – head of the department for Pardons of the Office of the President of Ukraine Dmytro Zhuravliov; first Vice-President of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Bandurka; deputy head of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention Serhii Hupiak; head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Head of the Donetsk RMA Vadym Filashkin; head of the Main Office of National Police in the Zaporizhzhia Region Artem Kysko; head of the MONP in the Kherson region Roman Koziakov; head of the department of Organizational and Analytical Support and Operational Response of the MONP in the Donetsk region Vadym Serhienko.
Leading Ukrainian scientists and international partners – general director of the Directorate for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Oleksandra Husak, head of the department of Education, Science and Sports of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Yurii Bohurskyi, vice-rector for Scientific Work of the National Law University named after Yaroslav Mudryi Dmytro Luchenko, dean of the faculty of Law of the Zaporizhzhia National University Tetiana Kolomoiets, Director of the Center for Ukrainian-European Scientific Cooperation Mykhailo Vikhliaiev, head of the Institute of the Security Service of Ukraine of the National Law University named after Yaroslav Mudryi Oleksandr Cherviakov and acting head of the regional agency of the European Union Advisory Mission in Lviv, rule of law advisor-trainer Markus Roelofs, program manager of the comprehensive assistance package for Ukraine of the NATO Agency in Ukraine Riana Andrio – identified key areas of scientific discussion that became the basis for further professional discussions.
The following issues were raised:
– conceptual principles of training specialists for the security and defense sector in war conditions;
– peculiarities of organizing educational process in higher education institutions with specific learning conditions;
– adaptation of educational programs to the challenges of martial law;
– innovative technologies and methods in training specialists for the security and defense sector in higher education institutions with specific learning conditions;
– development of a scientific component in training specialists for the security and defense sector;
– prospects for training specialists for the security and defense sector in the context of reforming higher legal education;
– international cooperation and experience exchange in the field of training personnel for the security and defense sector.
The conference was attended by over 200 scholars from 26 higher education institutions of Ukraine, as well as practitioners and foreign partners of the University: the European Union Advisory Mission, the University of Latvia, the University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business and Design (Wismar, Germany), and the Institute of East European Law (Regensburg, Germany).
The II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Issues in Training Specialists for the Security and Defense Sector in War Conditions” has become an important platform for the exchange of experience, scientific approaches, and innovative solutions between specialists from different countries.
