A workshop-practicum «Cyber language: gently de-occupying our smartphone» was held in the general library of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.

The meeting was opened by librarian Iryna Konieva, who focused the audience on the basics of media hygiene. She provided practical advice on countering disinformation narratives, after which the participants moved on to the «Cyberwatch» exercise. By analyzing suspicious messages, higher education seekers improved their threat recognition skills and learned to accurately distinguish phishing from safe content.
The workshop was joined by a practicing specialist, head of the cyber defense sector of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine in the Kirovohrad region, Captain Oleksandr Poichenko. He presented the youth with a structured checklist of mobile device settings aimed at minimizing the risks of unauthorized access, hacking, and leakage of personal data.

Technical audit of the gadgets was conducted by Olha Haborets, associate professor of the Department of Operational and Investigative Activities and Information Security of the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units named after E.O. Didorenko, DonSUIA, master of cybersecurity and information protection, cyber hygiene trainer, doctor of philosophy. Together with the cadets, she carried out a live audit of smartphones, during which special attention was paid to transition to the Ukrainian language. According to the expert, the use of Ukrainian localization minimizes the impact of the hostile information field and strengthens digital security.

The event was held within the cycle of events «Ukrainian: Language as a Shield of the Nation» and the main project «Code of the Nation: Formation of Ukrainian Identity».
