Within the framework of implementing the trilateral memorandum of cooperation between the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, the Department of the Main Inspection and Human Rights Compliance of the National Police of Ukraine and the Main Office of the National Police in the region a lecture was held for higher education seekers of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Social Management on the topic ” Observance of human rights in police activities under martial law.”
Mykola Sulzhuk, senior inspector for special assignments of the Unit of Commissioners for Control over the Compliance with Human Rights in Police Activities of the Department of the Main Inspection and Compliance with Human Rights of the National Police of Ukraine (located in the Kirovohrad region), spoke to the University students outlining the key areas of law enforcement work and presenting modern systems that help prevent violations of citizens’ rights and freedoms.
Head of the Department for Organizing the Activities of Temporary Detention Centers and Monitoring Actions with Detainees Dmytro Sliusarevskyi, noted that even in wartime conditions, the fundamental human rights remain inviolable, and their protection is ensured by state mechanisms.
His deputy, Illia Chernyshev, emphasized the importance of practical cases and trainings that allow students to acquire the necessary skills directly in interaction with police units.
Such meetings help expand the knowledge of future law enforcement officers, advance their understanding of modern challenges in the field of human rights protection, and help prepare for professional activities.
