The story of Oleksandr Zadorozhny, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, is an example of resilience, strength of spirit and a determination to lead a full life despite the consequences of the war.
Whilst defending the town of Chasiv Yar, he suffered blast injuries and concussion. After undergoing treatment and rehabilitation, he decided to learn to drive, taking another important step towards his own recovery and social reintegration.
Oleksandr undertook his training at the «Barrier-Free Driving School» at Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. Thanks to his perseverance, responsible approach to his studies and determination, he successfully passed his practical test at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centre in Kirovohrad Oblast and was awarded a Category B driving licence.
The «Barrier-Free Driving Schools» project is being implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine as part of an initiative by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.
