A training session entitled «The Trust Kit: Practical Tools for Educational Safety Inspectors» took place at the «Police Academy» Primary Vocational Training Centre in Mariupol, run by the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The «Trust Kit» is a set of psychological tools and techniques, adapted to the age-specific characteristics of children, developed by Andrii Fomenko, a lecturer in the professional and theoretical disciplines programme at the «Police Academy» Centre for Psychological and Pedagogical Support of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, and a crisis psychologist.
The event was opened by Ilya Merkulov, Director of the Academy; Kateryna Koltunova, Deputy Head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration; Oleksandra Bocharnykova, a representative of the «Safe Future» Charitable Foundation; and Rustam Khayrullaev, Senior Inspector of the Educational Safety Service Organisation Department.
During the training, police officers learnt the procedures for providing initial psychological support to children of various ages and practised practical approaches to supporting them psychologically. They also familiarised themselves with the age-specific characteristics of children’s development, their needs, the challenges of socialisation, and remedial and preventative practices using the «Trust Suitcase» toolkit.
