The educational project «Best Practices of the National Police of Ukraine» has started at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs for higher education seekers, involving staffers of the main investigation Department, the Department of preventive activities, and the criminal investigation Department.
The event took place within the framework of the ongoing platform on the quality of the educational process «Edu_DonSUIA_Campus: partnership and responsibility of stakeholders in training police officers».
A series of events was launched by representatives of the Department of interaction with communities. The trainers were senior inspector of the Department of support and training community police officers of the Agency of interaction with communities of the DPA NPU, police captain Dmytro Holovatyi and community police officer of the community interaction sector at the Prevention Department of the Kremenchuk DPD of the MONP in the Poltava region, police captain Ruslan Rutberg-Glova.
The cadets were introduced to the specifics of organizing the work of community police officers at the police station; material and technical resources; innovative methods of preventing offenses used by law enforcement officers through interaction with the community on a partnership basis; the specifics of implementing security initiatives and solving community problems; the specifics of police training within the specialization course «Community Police Officer».
The training was conducted in the format of interactive trainings, which included: live communication between trainers and participants; group work on practical tasks; discussion of real cases from the experience of community police officers; presentation of best practices and security initiatives; demonstration of video materials, conducting a discussion in the «question-answer» mode; developing algorithms for interacting with the community on the basis of partnership.
The trainers focused on the procedure of competitive selection for the position of a community police officer, and also organized an interactive exercise on sociability and the development of stress resistance in conditions of uncertainty «simulation of a mini-interview».
The training ended with law enforcement officers being introduced to the procedure for conducting a polygraph examination of candidates for the position of a community police officer, which was initiated by a certified polygraph examiner – deputy head of the Department of the main inspectorate of the MONP in the Kirovohrad region, police captain Yulia Plaksina.
