The Ukrainian language is not only a means of communication, but also an important element of professional culture, statehood and national identity. That is why, at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, lecturers of the Department of Language Training held a series of lectures for higher education seekers, scientific, pedagogical and administrative staffers dedicated to Ukrainian spelling as a state standard.
A meeting with Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Member of the National Commission on Standards of the Ukrainian Language Olha Novikova and Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Language Training of the DonSUIA Oksana Chornous became a special event in this regard. The speakers explained in detail to those present the prerequisites of the current Ukrainian spelling adoption, characterized the main changes in the spelling of words and provided practical recommendations for the use of language norms in professional activities.
The final focus of the meetings were professional recommendations that will help every DonSUIA employee and higher education seeker to confidently use language innovations.
